Am I charged for overdraft protection?
There is no fee to have overdraft protection. However, you will be charged $32 for courtesy pay transactions. Courtesy pay occurs when you do not have enough funds in your checking account or your overdraft protection accounts (savings or a line of credit) to cover the charge, and SunWest pays on your behalf, taking your account into a negative balance. As a standard Courtesy Pay Service, SunWest may, at its discretion, pay checks, automatic bill payments, and other transactions causing your account to go negative, and you will be charged $32 for utilizing Courtesy Pay for each transaction that results in a negative balance. You may opt out of this service at any time by contacting SunWest. You may also opt-in to have ATM and everyday day debit card transactions covered by Courtesy Pay. If you do so, each ATM or everyday debit card transaction that is approved and results in a negative account balance will also be charged the $32 for utilizing Courtesy Pay. You have 30 days from the day your account first went negative to pay back the negative account balance in full.
